He Has Good Plans
36"H x 36"W
Oh, Texas. Oh, Kerrville.
Oh, mamas and daddies who sent their babies to summer camp for the time of their lives only to find out the time of their lives have ended? How do you bury children and keep trusting in the sovereignty of a mighty Saviour?
I wasn’t going to paint Jesus today. But His face kept appearing before me and a song played in the background. “He has Good Plans.”
God honors our honest prayers so I prayed as I painted His eyes. Paint dripped blue and I wiped them from the canvas as Jesus said “I am weeping too.”
How could Jesus have Good Plans in the midst of such heartache? I don’t know.
But I do know that with every ache and every question, every tear and every fear …he is with us. He is near to the broken-hearted. He weeps when we weep. He mourns when we mourn. He is with us.
It seems impossible to think that Good can come from all this bad in the world. But we must remember that pain and tragedy, suffering and death are defeated in the end.
Those lives lost are eternally found now in the arms of our Lord.
This is a painful, brutal life with more questions than answers. But Take heart. He has Good Plans. And while, we don’t know why things happen as they do, we do know how this story ends.
Until then, we keep trusting that His plans are indeed Good.
