Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Look up, your redemption is drawing near.  Something different from what you see daily will happen. Just be aware, be watchful, wait just another short moment.  Wait and something quite new will break over you:  God will come.”

Some gifts arrive so gently we almost miss them—like a soft turn of the light, like shadows shifting across a quiet room. Only later do we see that Jesus was there all along, walking ahead, arranging mercy in places we hadn’t even reached yet.

Like the young family saving every dollar for their kids’ shoes. When the church took a love offering for a children’s hospital, they felt a tug they couldn’t ignore and gave everything. No one knew. Yet the next day, friends—unaware of their sacrifice—showed up wanting to buy the whole family brand-new shoes. A need surrendered, returned in full.

Or the young mama whose routine scan revealed an incidental finding of something pivotal. Fear pressed heavy. But Jesus pressed in. The final scan revealed a benign finding. Cancer quieted. Hope renewed.

And then there are the God-winks: the text mid-prayer, the song at the exact moment courage cracks, the ditch we barely missed, the choice we almost didn’t make. Tiny fingerprints of Jesus on ordinary moments—the faintest outline of His face turning toward us.

What feels small is sacred. What feels random is written.

Maybe the holiest part of this life is realizing how often miracles come disguised as moments. Shoes. Scans. Whispers. Different stories, same truth: Jesus goes before us.

And sometimes the miracle isn’t what arrives—it’s that we arrive, walking straight into the grace He laid out long before our first step, into a world already marked with His love, into moments already extraordinary, and into the presence of the One who was there first.

Be aware. Be watchful. Just keep waiting. God will come.
